    Nutrition: To nourish and enrich the lives of older individuals by providing nutritious meals to active and homebound individuals; thereby, promoting their health, well- being and independence.     The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program at Project Vida is funded and accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. It was one of the first community classes offered by Project Vida, becoming formalized 12 years ago after a nurse would go to community centers to teach people about the risk for diabetes, a prevalent issue in El Paso. Now, the class has a 7 class curriculum, which is taught by a chronic care coordinator, and anyone who finishes the class receives a free glucometer.
